1. To encourage the elderly in the community to exercise together by walking more.

2. To increase the ability and knowledge of health technology skills (eHealth literacy).

Activities

Activity 1 : Physical assessment activity and installation of a walking tracker application before joining the project

Date 20 – 23 February 2020

  • Weight, height, blood pressure measurement
  • Blood Sugar Level (FBS)
  • Measure muscle mass and body fat
  • Check the electrocardiogram

Activity 2: Educational Activities : Give knowledge about health care and walking for health

Date 27 – 29 February 2020

Activity 3: Track the number of steps walked in the application and answer questions about the use of the application

February 20 – March 16, 2020

Activity 4: Physical activity

Date 6 – 8 March 2020

Educate and engage in physical activities (Stretching exercise )

Output/Outcome

Project indicators and goals

From the project implementation period in February – March 2020, there were 108 participants who participated in the project.

From all of the participants, 80% of the participants has appropriate average number of steps taken for their age.

Futhermore from enhancing the knowledge of health care with the participants, the result represented that 80% of the participants in the project gained higher knowledge in health and nutrition with the average level of overall satisfaction at 4 points (out of 5).

Summarizing the total number of steps the participants walked throught the project 23,199,016 steps.

The total number of average steps per day 773,300 steps per day.

Average number of steps per person throughout the project 236,724 steps per person

The average number of steps per person per day throughout the project 7,380 steps per person per day.

(Usually healthy elderly should have an average walking pace of 2,000-9,000 steps per day)
